It hit me almost immediately after my return to Israel last week. Not surprising really, considering that I was missing 2 nights' sleep, suffering the effects of a 9 hours jetlag and making the transition from a subtropical summer to a cold, hazy, middle-eastern winter. At least now there's no need to rush and get vaccinated against the flu.

I stood next to the window in my Jerusalem apartment, holding myself flat against the radiator, waiting for the powers that be to turn it on so I could enjoy a small measure of warmth.
I looked out the window at the mountains surrounding Jerusalem and couldn't believe my eyes.

The object on the horizon was so sharp, vivid and frankly mesmerizing that I forgot my chills and aches and grabbed my camera.
What a sunset!
But the sun was not alone; a full moon and even some clouds all basked in the sun's glory.
I hope my photographic efforts have done some justice to what most of us miss day in and day out, mostly because we just don't bother looking up.
What do you think?
